Orbitotemporal plexiform neurofibroma following trauma: An unusual presentation in an African child

Abstract: Neurofibroma is a benign neural tumor of the peripheral nerve sheath, commonly associated with type 1 neurofibromatosis (Von Recklinghausen disease). These tumors can develop at any point along peripheral nerves. Here, we present a case of plexiform neurofibroma in a child with Von Recklinghausen disease following a traumatic event.
